Notice how the show went from boring to interesting once Ash started talking?
The discussion on the sequel was fairly one sided.
You all also need to be a bit more educated on the topic of discussion.
Anyways, sad episode and it felt like a bunch of fanboys trying hard to find positives with rumours and 'what-ifs'.
Still a bit disapointed its not a DLC
Yup, you really should take the time to learn what you want to talk about. Perhaps not one of the best episodes but hey, it's just one out of many, many episodes.
When I first heard about how soon l4d2 was gonna be released, I was a bit annoyed they were bringing it out so soon instead of spending the time to make it a "proper" sequel. But after giving it some thought, it's got just as much stuff, if not more, as almost any other game sequel.
It's got:
Twice as many weapons, half of which introduce a whole new style of play;
Brand new charecters, each of which develops individually over the course of the campaign;
Close to twice the amount of playable special infected
New gameplay mechanics like a wandering witch, incendiary ammo and best of all a crescendo where you must get from A to B to stop the horde.
More than double the amount of maps, coupled with the new improved director giving a huge amount of replay value, plus all the great stuff the community comes up with (l4d1 custom maps are compatible with l4d2).
Frankly, this is as much a sequel as any other game has. The only reason we are annoyed is just like you say - Valve have been great to the community and we now have unreasonable expectations.

That basically explains it all.
L4D2 is an major update... but L4D will be left in the dust.
It's stupid. And I'm sorry but the voice acting is terrible. "I lawrve horses" Who the hell says that in the pitch of battle? The "reloading" sounds aren't shouted, they are groaned. Sounds like they are bored.
And http://steamcommunity.com/groups/L4D2boycott explains a lot of what the problems are also.
And most of us modders wont support L4D1 as much because why would be support the inferior game?
L4D1 was incomplete, lack of those two maps in VS? What? That's just stupid! The survival update was pretty much what we should have had in the original game.
Also L4D1 hasn't gotten modding support yet because it took 7 MONTHS, 7! after release! They said it would come out "a few weeks from release". I was putting of making my campaign because I was sure that they would release the SDK asap, but they waited ages after the surv update.
The only reason they kept the SDK from us modders was that they hadn't completed the original VS maps. This just shows that L4D was an incomplete game.
(ps. I cbfed making a forum account :D)
boomer bile causes to slip and fall...it would be good to barf in front of saferooms!
